birthday of the year :)

Today, 1st October is ‘The Guy’ @ Mohd. Hafidz @ Epit @ Mr. Tuichi’s birthday.. (aaah..akhirnya the guy’s identity is revealed..heheh..)

But i threw a pre-birthday surprise celebration for him..
on 30 September (Sunday) at Bora Ombak, Ampang..

I planned for this a week ahead..
called up his close friends..and we conspired together.. sms-es and calls going back & forth..
and all the time Mr. Tuichi didn’t suspect a thing! Hehehe… terer kan kitorang berlakon..

I was cracking my head to find an excuse to get him to the venue. Finally got the idea of asking him to teman me for a buka puasa gathering with the press on Sunday (kononnya my company is the organizer la, and i kena tunjuk muka.)
He gladly obliged, without sensing anything amiss.

Ok, so on Sunday.. 5 minutes before we arrived at Bora Ombak, i’ve already sent out a sms to his brother, Encik Azlan @ Karim Jantan.. saying that ‘the eagle has landed’ (hahahaha… macam president!) Everyone had to get ready la.. seated in the very cool Bali-esque pondok.. bersila and all..

I got off first, and Mr. Tuichi went to park the car.

I saw that everyone was already in the pondok..except for Talha..sebab dia tgh beratur ambil makanan (tak ikut arahan betul la Talha ni.. hahaha…)

Tiba2 my phone rang. Mr. Tuichi tanya, “U kat mana?’ Hey, I saw Talha..”

I replied, “Hahhh? Ye ke?? Apa dia buat kat sini??” (dgn suara yg abis berlakon la kiranye)

And at that time he still didn’t suspect anything.. i told him i was in the pondok.. nama pondok tu Bisik 3.. he came and saw the whole gang seated..

They were: Alan Zed, Ishi Zed, Abg Krul, Akai, Asam, Bidin, Talha..


..and Mr. Tuichi had this confused look on his face like, ‘huh?’









Tapi dia still tak suspect anything! He was trying to figure out why were these guys invited to a press thingy.. hahaha…comel la yayang! Until i told him that it’s a surprise..for his birthday..itu pun dia dalam keadaan lagging juga..coz he was so dumbfounded, speechless, in total disbelief that everyone was there..

Mr. Tuichi was so touched.. he shed tears of joy (eh no la i’m just exaggerating..but his mata kinda berkaca la..hehehe)..
The boys got him a Manchester United pillow and a card..plus a birthday cake.. i got him a ring and a shirt (sorry yayang..i know we made a deal, but i can’t help it..hehee)



Then there was a round table session.. first Mr. Tuichi spoke about each individual, on how that person made an impact in his life. And then it was their turn to speak about him. I was trying very hard to hold back the tears..and i could see some of them were struggling too..hehe..

After that poignant moment, we resumed business… chatted and laughed and sang.. (thanks Ishi, Akai and Bidin for the MP3 music from your phones). At that time, most of the buka puasa crowd had left..it was like we had the whole place to ourselves.. (memang betul private party ni..)





Tiba-tiba datang mood creative, lalu Mr. Tuichi & i did an impromptu pocho-pocho to the boys’ rendition of a lagu Raya (ala..tak tau nama tapi yang start dgn “berlalu la sudah Ramadhan..sebulan berpuasaaa). Yang bestnyer, we had a guest performer, a young boy named Aiman (i think he’s like 5 yrs old kot) who joined us..dia tiba2 dtg join nak menari..and then dia nak nyanyi..and thennn, dia suruh kitorang nyanyi happy birthday to him..but he said birthday dia lambat sangat (meaning lambat lagi). So we sang la..and Mr. Tuichi’s leftover birthday cake tu, we lighted the candle again and asked him to blow. And Aiman blew the candle, and cut the cake (berlakon). Pastu kitorang offer la cake tu, suruh dia makan a slice.

His answer? “Aiman puasa la..”

That kid’s a riot, i tell you… He was like, the side entertainment for the night! What an honour to have met him..one day he's gonna be star..hehe..

After Aiman left with his parents, we all sambung borak lagi.. I made an announcement that there’s a final surprise appearance. The final dude to come was Pa’an, who could not join us for berbuka. Kehadiran Pa’an bukan sahaja surprise for Mr. Tuichi, but for everyone else there too as they haven’t seen each other for a long time.. so rindu la..





We adjourned to Suzi’s for nestar.. seperti biasa it was chaos there as well.. we laughed sampai meleleh air mata, ada yang hampir asthma dan yang paling penting, everyone’s cheekbones hurt so much from laughing..hahaha…

Semua orang macam tak nak balik, but what to do, it’s a working day the next day..sighh… but we look forward to the next get-together after Raya..hehe..
So kena tunggu… nanti cik urusetia uruskan.. tak sabarnya for the BIG TRIP next year!

I was deeply touched, for at this occasion, I witnessed how strong their bond is.. Mr. Tuichi’s 9 WONDERFUL friends came in full force to not only celebrate his birthday, but to celebrate the meaning of family & friendship, and celebrate how they have left indelible marks in each others’ lives..

All in all, it was an amazing night…especially for Mr. Tuichi.. he was extremely happy, glowing with sheer, untainted happiness… and that is the most meaningful gift for me..to see him happy..

For there can never be another guy like Mohd. Hafidz Zainul Abidin.. the one who will do ANYTHING in his power to make me happy.. he is my best friend, my partner in life, my everything..
