Salam, this is Umar Nafidz bringing you an update of what I've been up to :)
I just turned 2 months on the 26th of April. So far I'm happy to report that I've gone to:
1. My buddy Umair's house in Ampang
:: Umair & Umar & the mommies ::
2. Lunch at the Poolside Terrace, Royal Lake Club
"hey, our heads look the same la Tok Jack! "
3. Lunch at Cozy House, GE Mall
4. Dinner at Sakura in Melawati
Tapi semua tempat tu Umar tak makan pun. hehehe. When we went to Sakura, I didn't want to sleep so I watched Arsenal lawan Middlesbrough with Daddy & my uncles. Uncle Ben wants me to support Arsenal, Uncle Da wants me to be an Chelsea fan. I think my Pak Long Azlan would like it if I cheer for Liverpool, but my Daddy is a Manchester United supporter.
I think I will follow Tok Jack & Uncle Rick & Uncle Memer's footsteps and play rugby. hahaha. (mesti Mommy susah hati wooo)
Mommy recently packed all my newborn outfits coz I can't fit into them. She also put away my froggy sling that's been supporting me in the bath tub. I'm too big for the sling, so I now bathe straight in the froggy tub. Macam swimming pool la! Best! Mommy looked a bit sad when she was packing the stuff, I heard she was telling Daddy, "my baby is growing up so fast, before you know it he'll be going off to university!"
She is such a drama queen, my Mommy.
Now I get to wear the bajus that were too big for me, for example like the two rompers Uncle Memer bought. When Auntie Tasha gave them to Mommy before I was born, Mommy figured that I'll be wearing them when I'm 6 months. The label says 0-6 mths, but they looked sooo besar (maybe because the cutting ikut size orang putih). But now I'm able to wear them. Mommy loves them even though I think they're supposed to be for girls coz the colour's red.
This was because Uncle Memer sangat confident that I was gonna turn out to be a girl.
So NOT true ok!
Mommy says boys can wear red too, or pink for that matter..(but Mommy says only boys with the right skin tone can pull it off). I guess Daddy is lucky because sometimes I see him wearing pink shirts and he looks good in them. Anyway, thank you Uncle Memer :)
Recently I impressed Mommy & Daddy by raising my chest when I'm on my tummy. I am frustrated that I can't turn over, although I almost did, many many times. I like to tug at my hair too. I coo & gurgle & talk A LOT & grin from ear-to-ear (like Daddy),
especially before sleeping. And especially before Mommy & Daddy go out. Mommy says I'm trying to bodek her. Maybe I am ;p
I've mastered the art of screaming and I like to try out my powerful lungs (and my big voice) at any opportunity I can get. Mommy & Daddy are not quite impressed, I must say.. hehe.
Ohhh, and I prefer talking to sleeping. Although I am soooo sleepy at times, I like to try and keep my eyes open and skip my naps. However when I am really really sleepy, I can even fall asleep while Mommy is bathing me..hahaha.. Mommy & Daddy say Umar ni sooo funny la.
Sometimes I know Mommy & Daddy pretend to be asleep just so that I will also sleep, but I know they olok-olok only and I will call out to them and make pretend crying sounds until they talk to me, and I love talking to them. Mommy calls me Mr. Talkative. I heard her whispering to Daddy, "this is what happens when both parents are kaki borak non-stop!" hehehehe..
But I try not to give anyone a hard time. Like when I followed Mommy when she works in Tok Mama's spa, I will drink milk and sleep in my cot there, until it's time to go home. And like yesterday, when Mommy went to office with Daddy, I took a loooooong nap so that I won't bother Tok Mama. I only woke up when Mommy & Daddy came home.
:: Daddy's boy ::
Hmm, I guess that's all for now. I'm going to suck my thumb and put myself to sleep now..lalala.. zzzz... zzzz...

hello, world :)
Hello.
My name is Umar Nafidz. My daddy is Mohd. Hafidz and my mommy is Sheemi Mayanti. I was born on 26 February 2009, 1 Rabiulawal 1430 Hijrah, at 7.49 pm in Gleneagles Intan Medical Centre, KL. When I was born, I weighed 3.43 kg and my height (or length) was 49 cm. Dr Ravi Chandran helped to deliver me. Daddy was the cheerleader who cheered mommy on for 7 hours and saw me made my entrance into the world.

I thought he sounded like he had a lump in his throat, like sebak when he held me close and recited the azan & iqamah into my ears. Finally I get to meet my daddy, the one with the very deep bass voice that I've been hearing for the past 9 months.
My Tok Mama and Uncle Rick came to fetch me from the hospital. Before that, Dr Ravi and my paediatrician, Dr Adrian, checked mommy & I and gave us the green light to go home. A lot of people say I look like my mommy, but my nose & my smile & my dimple is very much like my daddy's.

On my 6th day, my tali pusat fell off. Phewww. Now, I am 3 weeks and 5 days old, or 26 days old. I love to drink my mommy's milk and sleep and poop. I enjoy my bath time with Tok Mama and the froggy bath tub.
My mommy and daddy say that I'm a good boy because I'm not fussy and I sleep longer at night. Since from the hospital, my daddy volunteered to be in charge of diaper duty. If my diaper needs to be changed, my daddy will take care of it. He won't let mommy change my diaper (if he's at home or if I wake up at night). He calls it our 'boys' time'. Mommy is very happy because she gets extra nap time.

Sometimes when I'm put in the cot, I will call out to anyone who's nearby to come talk to me. I normally do this by calling out 'eii' or 'haaii' until someone comes over and keeps me company. I like it when there are people around me and borak-borak. I willl borak-borak also.

Tok Mama says I have inquisitive eyes because my eyes dart here, there & everywhere, like as if I want to study everything. Most of the people who came to visit me said I look like I'm already 1 month plus. I dunno why. Maybe I'll be as tall as my daddy, or maybe even taller. Mommy says I'm a polite boy because I close my mouth when I yawn, like, my lips form a small 'o'.
I like to move my hands and legs a lot. Daddy can't wait to play futsal with me. Mommy can't wait to go jalan-jalan with me. They say I'll probably be like them, suka jalan-jalan. Daddy says he's not surprised, after all, when I was inside mommy, I've already been on an airplane and gone to Sarawak for the Rainforest World Music Festival. I've even gone snorkelling & island hopping in Pulau Redang, and naik Aeroline jalan-jalan cari makan in Penang :)
Sometimes if I have an upset tummy or the weather's a bit warm, I tend to be slightly cranky. When that happens, daddy will rock me and mengaji or berzikir. During diaper change, daddy likes to sing to me and he will make up funny songs and funny stories, like Si Mulia & Si Singa. At night, as daddy rocks me to sleep, sometimes I will hum along to his zikir and selawat.
Some people came to visit and I was happy to hear a lot of people talking and fussing over me. But some of them were quite weird and annoying because they talked more about their babies' talents, so pandai this & that and what their babies did when they were my age and how expensive their formula and diapers and clothes are.. Poor mommy, she didn't say much... just listened and nodded & smiled, but when they all went home, I think mommy was kinda relieved. Mommy & I were like, whatever! Geez, mommies today are so competitive. It's ok mommy, don't give in to peer pressure!
Hmm.. I like to watch cartoons on TV with Uncle Rick but this rarely happens because Tok Mama only lets me watch Astro Oasis. Last night I was watching Buletin Utama with Tok Jack. Uncle Rick, who obediently followed Tok Mama's instructions, blocked my view and didn't let me watch, but I said "aiiii" and "eiiii" so many times and I kept lifting my head to get a better view that Tok Jack scolded Uncle Rick and asked him to move away and not block my view. Hahaha.
Oh well, I guess that's all the update I have..yawnnn.. this is Umar Nafidz at 26 days old, signing off...yawnnn....

another tuichi - inicom success :)
Kuala Lumpur, 8 February 2009 - A baby shower was held today in anticipation of the arrival of Baby Tuichi, future heir or heiress to the Tuichi Empire. Despite quite a number of no-shows, the party went on in true Tuichi grandeur. Both daddy and mommy-to-be were elated to be surrounded by jovial and generous company...
hahaha...if i had my way, that's how i'd send out my press release, i guess ;p
Anyhoo..yep, I had the best time at my baby shower. Many who RSVP-ed to say they were attending somehow could not make it...but that sure did not dampen my mood... no sirree.. I mean, s**t happens, no? What mattered was the ones who came and I sure was touched by my friends' show of support and generosity.
Special mention to Bidin and his friends (i think 13 of them.. wish i can thank them personally) who made a huge effort to contribute and buy such an extravagant gift for Baby Tuichi. And to think that apart from Bidin, I don't even know these guys that well (mungkin pernah jumpa sekali dua je kot..) Thank you guys, thank you for acknowledging & appreciating.. (sangat terharu!)
:: the gift from Bidin & his friends (my friends represented Bidin's friends la kiranya..hahaahaa)::
This baby shower was an initiative by my BFFs Steph & Miha, and of course supported by my beloved husband Mr. Tuichi, who is also very much like a BFF/ girlfriend to me..hehehee... He was the one who came up with the idea for the goodie bags (again, i can't believe I'm so lucky to be married to this guy!) and rushed around at the last minute to make sure everything was in order and even bought more goodie bags just in case a lot of guests turned up (which predictably, did not happen! sorry yayang..huhuhu) and he mobilized the team from Inicom to make the event a success. Everyone oohed and aahed over the decor... it was splendid! :)
Congrats Inicom on a wonderful job... here's another event to add to our portfolio :)
Merci beaucoup et tres bien..
* hugs *
